Haute Chocolate Charity Gala

Hello everyone!

We’re coming into the Christmas season again, and I’ve decided to put on an event this year. =)

I’m calling it the Haute Chocolate Charity Gala. I’ve set the date for December 22, 2007. This isn’t a lot of time for me to put it all together, but I know that with the help of dedicated individuals I can pull this event off!

The event will be put on to help support and raise money for Canadian organizations who work to promote the arts in our communities! I want to give back to my city and my country. As a child, I took improvisation classes at the Arts Firehall, and I give them credit for bringing out the confidence and people skills I have today! I would love to give back to organizations like that one so that other children can experience the same thing.

I’m in the works of booking the Mackenzie Ballroom in the Fairmont Hotel. It is quite pricey, so I’m looking for some help with getting everything booked. However, if you know of any other really nice, affordable venues that would better suit, then please let me know!

I’d prefer any help with funds, but I’m also looking for people who can help me organize. =)

All of the information is listed here. Please read through it and see if you can help!

 Thank you all so much!

Cheers,
Jessica Elliot

On A Quest

Hello!

So I’m on a quest. =) I’ve built a website (sortof), started building up a business deal with several establishments, and I’m busy talking to potential investors about covering the expenses of one of the biggest photoshoots I’ll be doing ever!

After talking with the wonderful John L. Healy (“Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer”) yesterday, I’ve been considering studying with him for a while to perfect my Special FX art. He is such a friendly and knowledgable man with lots of experience in the field. I feel I have a lot I can learn from him. I’ve fallen in love with his new horror and special fx store, “2Monsters”, on Hastings. =D Go visit it as soon as you can!

In further news, my model directory has recieved a larger amount of applications, so if anyone needs a model, then please feel free to contact me! =D

 I believe that is all…

Cheers,

The Interesting Month

Hello everyone,

Ok, so October is turning out to be a pretty interesting month so far. I’ve booked a few new photoshoots, I’ve just finished an interview with Holt Renfrew, and I’ll be competeing in the huge contest being put on during the Makeup Forever Women’s Show in Abbotsford soon!

Speaking of the Makeup Forever contest, I am looking for a female model who is interested in working with me on this one. The contest will generate tons of publicity for both me and the model. Should we win, I’ll happily share the prize ($500 worth of Makeup Forever products and a $100 Sears giftcard). Please contact me for info. However, I think I’ll be putting up a casting page. =)

In any case, this month has had its downs too. I’ve left my parents (after a family spat) and I’m permanently boarding with a friend in Burnaby! It isn’t so bad because now I’m only 30 minutes away from Vancouver, which makes the work commute substantially easier. I can’t help but miss my home (as I don’t like sleeping on a couch), but this will soon end as we finish preparing a room for me in the basement. =P

Furthermore, I’m excited to say that I’ve started a Model Directory! Since launching it about…oh, 5-days-ago, it has become a huge success! I’ve officially gathered up about 12 models so far and another 5 unofficially. I’m intending this directory to be an easy way for photographers to sift through models and get the facts without having to search through profile after profile on Model Launch or Model Mayhem. O_O I’ve already recieved directory requests from 2 photographers and 1 makeup student. ^^

I think that’s about it…yep. More later!

Cheers,
Jessica Elliot
